The role of the Streetwork Technician will be to paint and maintain Royal Mail Street Furniture; including Trucks and Trolleys. The succe! ssful candidate will be working independently or as a member of a team, undertaking work of a technical nature through application of knowledge and skill in a standard method. This position will cover several areas within a specified Postcode region.
Who will this role work with to achieve excellence? This position will report into the Fabric Asset Manager (Central) and work closely with the Streetworks Admin team, technicians, customers and the general public as well as liaising with the wider Romec support functions. What needs to be done in this role to achieve this? â¢ Using knowledge in order to carry out work following clearly defined procedures and standards â¢ Working under guidance as a part of a team, providing assistance to skilled staff â¢ Working independently (or as a part of a team), planning and performing work following schedules, diagrams or drawings â¢ Working in a structured and tidy manner, observing all relevant health and safety legislati! on and Romec operating procedures and standards â¢ Liaise wit! h customers and public in a professional fashion in order to project a positive company image.
What technical knowledge, skills and experience is required? â¢ The Technician will use basic hand tools and power tools â¢ Candidates will have a basic mechanical skills â¢ Ideally candidates will hold a street works license â¢ The technician will ideally hold a Streetworks license, this is desirable and not essential What behaviours and personal competence is needed? â¢ Always indentifies possible near misses and hazards in their workplace â¢ Always follows an up-to-date safe system of work â¢ Acts as a role model for safety, setting positive examples to peers â¢ Keeps customers informed of progress and outcomes â¢ Responds to customers day to day needs promptly and courteously â¢ Willing to share expertise and knowledge â¢ Contributes new ideas for improving ways of working â¢ Enthusiastic and committed to the task in hand â¢ Strives to deliver beyond expe! ctations â¢ Respects company and customer property â¢ Acts as a positive representation for the organisation What values do we hold as a company?
